Balearic Islands cruises

I listen to the sea, I listen to the wind, I listen to the sails that speak with the rain and the stars in the sounds of the sea and I have no sleep (Bernard Moitessier)

Cruising on a sailboat is a relaxing but adventurous way to explore the Balearic Islands, whose pearl is Mallorca. The Balearic Islands offer many opportunities for activities, tours, moorings and itineraries. A single cruise is not enough to discover all the beauties of these islands but it is nevertheless possible to go around Mallorca in 1 week (190 miles) sacrificing the moorings and swims to the desire of miles … we prefer the family cruise!

It would be wrong to imagine that modern tourism has disfigured the coasts of Mallorca: for a dozen large overcrowded beaches lined with tall buildings, we can walk more than a hundred miles of wild coastline where beautiful Mediterranean vegetation clings to steep slopes, sun-bleached rocks. Deep calas lined with maritime pines, such as Cala Pi or Cala Mitjana, sandy beaches with turquoise waters such as Cala Mondrago or Es Trenc, majestic capes Cap Blanc and Cape Formentor, impressive cliffs on the west coast, not to mention the Cabrera Nature Park and typical and welcoming ports like Portocolom or Soller.

Cape Formentor impressively extends the island to the northwest towards Menorca which is 20 miles from Mallorca, it is smaller and there it is possible in a week to enjoy wonderful days while making the full tour (80 miles). The deep cove of Ciutadella is home to the island's most picturesque port on the west coast with its old town with narrow alleyways lined with arcades around the cathedral and overlooking the harbour.
