There are three kinds of men, the living, the dead and those who go to the sea.
Day 1:
Arriving at Mahon airport, we split the crew in two, one crew member and I will take the boat in hand and the others will do the refuelling for the week. This is the first cruise: the first time we don't get the supply delivered, the first time I've skipped a catamaran and 1st cruise for a new team. 2 hours later we can set sail from cala Figuera and set sail for Cala Teulera. In an hour we anchor to spend the night. Time to drink the aperitif and prepare dinner and we eat with the sunset on the fortress Isabella II.
Day 2:
After a good lunch we leave the largest port of the Mediterranean: 6km long. Head for cala En Porter. After 45 minutes the dolphins come to greet us on the babord, which heralds a beautiful week. Aperitif dinner-bathing for noon and we drop anchor in the late afternoon. Tour in the surrounding calas, swimming, reading and preparation of the next day before dinner.
Day 3:
Our day's sailing will take us to Cala Macarela, which is perhaps the most beautiful beach in Menorca, with its turquoise water in the middle of limestone cliffs. For the middle of the day we anchor at Cala Trebeluja for a swim and we relax. Let's set sail and depart for the purpose of the day, under sails and with a wonderful sky reflected in the sea, the cala is not very busy and it's all the better for a night at anchor. Swimming for some, tanning for others but aperitif for all before dinner on board.
Day 4:
Our sailing was supposed to take us to Ciutadella, but the events of the day will take us a step further. It is with very good visibility, a little rough sea and a wind of force 3 coming from the northeast that we set sail. Passage of Cape Artrutx and its lighthouse around noon to anchor at cala Forçat. For in Ciutadella, wanting to snolic in water, it started with a crew member in the water wanting to moor, fortunately inconsequential if not a few later jokes. Once moored we were rejected manu military without being able to refuel and it is angry that we went back the throttle to go back to sea. A bath, an aperitif dinner and it's shark that we set sail on cala Morell. Passage under the lighthouse of Punta Nati and anchored for the night in a paradise Morell cala both by light and by its red rocks at sunset.
Day 5:
Departure for a beautiful day of sailing where we will exceed 7 knots under gennaker. Our next stop is Cala Fornells. Today passage under the 6th of the 7 lighthouses that count the island: The lighthouse of Cavalleria. Dinner under sailing at 6 knots on a boat that remains flat, beautiful. We arrive in the middle of the afternoon and we start to the buoy. then disembarked to visit this village located in a bay 4 km long and which is well known for its lobster fishermen. After completing the refuelling, proposal is made to supper ashore and enjoy a "caldereta de langosta" star of local gastronomy.
Day 6:
Departure of the buoy for the water at the port of Fornells, then head to cala Grao. We sail under the last lighthouse of the island: Lighthouse of Favaritx. We anchor for a swim and dinner at Cala Presili from where we keep an eye on the lighthouse. Then it is for the night that we anchor in cala Grao or Grau. Beautiful turquoise cala, paddle and annex launch, drone flight and walk on the surrounding rocks, visit with an ice stop for a beautiful sunset in Es Grau.
Day 7:
For this cruise, once is not custom we have all our time for this Friday. We rented this boat to an individual and it will only take possession of it on Saturday at the pontoon to go directly to the French coast. We set sail and it is at more than 6 knots that we head to cala Teulera. After dinner, part of the crew pushes to Port Mahon. We enjoy the tranquillity of the place with a last game of maps and spend the last night of this cruise under a very starry sky.
Day 8:
After making the most of this great atmosphere on board we set sail for cala Figuera only a few miles away and greet its owner before putting the "cap" on the airport.
Time, wind and tides pass, but memories bring us back to shore forever.
